We present organic St. John's wort essential oil for detergents, obtained from the plant with the botanical name Hypericum perforatum. In international practice the product is known as St. John's Wort organic essential oil for detergents. The plant belongs to the perennial herbs of the family Hypericaceae, whose distribution covers the temperate latitudes of Europe, North Africa and a large part of Asia. The latitudes of Bulgaria fall within this range, which is where our flower raw material for extraction comes from. The raw material grows under organic farming, which determines its fully organic composition. The organic composition gives the liquid an advantage, along with the selection of flowers in full bloom. The blooming coincides with the period that scientific observations of the species indicate as the richest in volatile compounds in the aboveground flowering parts of the plant. The volatile compounds carry the advantages of the product, since steam distillation preserves them in a pure and unchanged form right up to the finished liquid.
